A Place On Earth: looking the part

To kick off the New Year we’ll be considering a series of Jesus’ parables, and how they invite us to see and live into God’s Kingdom in the messy here and now; not a distant destination, but a parallel reality that is always breaking through in glimmers and one which we have a hand in creating.

Scripture & Quotations

  • Matthew 25:1-13

EMILY: It goes so fast. We don’t have time to look at one another. I didn’t realize. All that was going on in life, and we never noticed. Take me back – up the hill – to my grave. But first: Wait! One more look. Goodbye, world. Goodbye my beautiful town ... Mama and Papa. Goodbye to clocks ticking, and Mama’s sunflowers. And food and coffee, and new-ironed dresses, and hot baths, and sleeping and waking. Oh, Earth! You’re too wonderful for anybody to realize you…. Do any human beings ever realize life while they live it? I mean every, every minute?

STAGE MANAGER: No. The saints and poets, maybe they do – some.

Kids’ Video

The following was the video shares in the breakout time for our kids, inviting them to consider along with you as parents the way that Jesus describes the “Kingdom of Heaven,” or the “Kingdom of God.”
