Gathering Liturgy: Imagine

If you were unable to join us for our first Sunday liturgy on August 20, we would love for to you give a listen to hear a bit more about the genesis of Vessel and our guiding ethos as we continue gathering together in this season of new rooting.

Audio is recorded on an iPhone and surely isn’t the cleanest thing you will ever hear, but I hope you will find it tolerable. Let’s just say that the post-production budget for a church plant is not high. ;)

If anything you hear resonates, consider joining us this coming Sunday morning, September 10th, for our next gathering. Details are on the Events page. We’d love to meet you. Keep scrolling to see a few photos from our gathering, taken by our dear brother Deji Osinulu.

Scripture & Quotations

2 Corinthians 4: 7-10

Acts 2: 42-47

Matthew 15: 10-20

Galatians 3: 23-29

The pastor is not an exalted member of the community… (He or she) is merely one more member of the body who happens to have been gifted and given responsibility to lead, teach, and shepherd.

- Tim Morey, Planting a Church Without Losing Your Soul

Benediction

Gracious God, today we celebrate this

first faithful step, trusting that what comes next

is in your hands.

Redeemer, we offer ourselves to you.

Create, and build with us as you will.

Relieve our minds of selfish aims,

That we would better hear your voice.

In facing every obstacle,

help us to rest in your faithfulness.

When we gaze uncertain

at the sprawling road ahead,

May we look back,

And give thanks,

For look, how far you have already brought us.

Vessel, beloved all, go in love to live the church.

Go in peace.
